On the other hand, with the development of the national economy and the improvement of people's living standards, high-end titanium dioxide applications and demand is rising, sulfuric acid method in the weather resistance and purity there is a certain gap. This leads to the lack of supply of high-end production capacity in China, and every year we need to import high-quality titanium dioxide from abroad to meet domestic demand.
Chlorination process started later, but the process is simple, large capacity, less pollution, and is now more popular in foreign applications. Although China at the national level since 2005 has begun to encourage and promote the production process of chlorination, but by the shortage of high titanium slag and artificial rutile and other major raw materials and advanced technology monopolized by a small number of international enterprises and other factors, the pace of development is relatively slow.
